Phases of the Moon
Phases of the Moon is a 4 stage OTA-based phaser with a diverse feature set.
It has a three-way toggle switch to select between the ranges of modulation: slow sweep mode, Killed LFO mode which allows you to use it as a fixed resonant filter and finally a fast sweep mode. The other controls are 4 pots Resonance, Rate, Depth and Sweep. Finally, the second toggle takes you between phase and vibe modes. In vibe mode the dry signal is cut from the mix. Depth could be thought of as a blend control as it mixes the dry and wet signals together therefore in vibe mode it is acting as the volume pot.
This is a really lovely phaser. Its so versatile that it is hard not to find the sound you areafter. The only problem you might have is to stop using it once you’ve built it – not the worlds biggest problem is it.
The board is spaced for PCB mounted toggles and pots. It fits in one of our JP125B cases. The layout is very neat, and spaced well. I've included my 'diy friendly' approach with larger pads but space was tight so the pad spacing is too. This one comes with top jacks and power as standard.
This kit is intermediate level. It has a high parts count and tight pad spacing. Theres nothing too specialist going on though, and the results are very rewarding.
