Hotcake and Berries
Check out this clip on the tubeofyou.
The hottest cake in town, now with some blue berries to sweeten it up. This circuit was first designed in the mid 70’s by pedal god Mr Paul Crowther. Its designed to leave the undistorted guitar tone unchanged, whilst providing nice fat distortion. You can use it as a clean boost at certain settings. As you crank the drive up you go through different territories of drive. This kit has the onboard dip switch to give you the three tonal options which is where the bluesberry mod sits. It gives you a slightly less buzzy edge at the onset of the distortion. Experiment with the dip switch and go with the setting you prefer.
The build process is suitable for intermediate level builders, and is made easier with the three board mounted pots. I've used my DIY friendly design method for this board which includes a lovely spacious layout with larger solder pads to encourage good solder joints.
The kit is supplied with a JP1590B sized enclosure as standard.
This kit compares to the Crowther Hotcake with Bluesberry Mod.
